Your challenge

Special foundation drilling, also named geo-construction, is needed in most civil engineering work like roads, buildings, bridges, canals, harbours and dams. These jobs are very challenging and always on a tight schedule. Drilling in urbanized environments requires a fast and low sound level drilling technique to minimize the noise pollution for resident. Furthermore, in a lot of geo-construction drilling projects it is essential that the drill bit doesn’t deviate. This can cause inaccurate results which leads to dangerous situations, especially in dam and water works.

Our solution

The Eijkelkamp SonicSampDrill method of drilling is 3 to 4 times faster than conventional drilling techniques which results in an enormous saving in operational costs. Sonic is suited for all overburden formations, including difficult to drill mixed layers. In special foundations drilling Sonic is very effective due to the fact that you don’t need a large compressor and the high frequency vibrations ensure almost no deviation!

Installation in all overburden formations:

The combination of Sonic vibration with rotation enables you to drill through all overburden formations. Sonic drilling is
also fast and efficient in a mixture of soft and hard material. Due to the high frequency vibrations a layer just around the drill
string fluidizes softer formations. Rotation makes sure that the sonic vibrations are evenly spread to break harder formations.
Installation of the foundation material is usually through the inside of the drill casing which ensure that the hole does not
collapse.
